The 2016 New England Regional Innovation Summit is a two-day engagement opportunity being held at MIT, for technology innovators and entrepreneurs. This effort, spearheaded by the SBA Office of Investment and Innovation (OII), is a coordinated effort amongst participating SBIR/STTR agencies to continually engage, identify, and encourage participation in the SBIR/STTR programs. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, affectionately referred as America’s Seed Fund, play an instrumental role in providing early stage, non-dilutive, research and development capital which spurs small advanced technology firms’ innovations. Annually more than $2.5 billion non-diluted in early stage research and development funding is provided through these programs.
